Help: Blue Soleil(Bluetooth)

Posted: 02-18-2006, 12:58 PM
Hi
I have purchased a "Blue Soleil" WAP dongle for my PC. It is made by "ITV
Corporation", presumably in the Far East (Taiwan?). It works beautifully for
transferring signals from my cellphone to the PC. However, it should also be
able to work in the opposite direction, i.e. transferring a pic from my PC to
the cellphone. I have no manual. Can anyone provide information on how to
transfer from the PC to the cellphone?
Thanks.

Hi,

I am having similar problems with using Blue Soleil. I can pair my
mobile and the PC fine but when i try to send pictures from the phone
to the computer it connects the push object for like 1 second and then
disconnects. And when I try to send things from the computer it
connects to the phone and sort of just sits there until it times out. I
don't know what's wrong I am thinking it might be a security issue on
my PC as i tried it on a friends Powerbook and (it has built in
bluetooth) and everything worked straight away so I don't think it's
the phone.

If anyone can help it would be great!!
Thanks in advance!

Hi
Using same software, if you first check in the services view to see
which services have started - you need FTP. Then switch back to the
devices view. Help file is useful as a reference.
Try using FTP, of course it can be used bi-directionally. Object push
not the protocol to use I think it's for b.card

Ok So i go into the service window and make sure the file transfer
service is running and then try and connect the ftp service...All i get
is a connection failed error. Would a firewall block the connection...I
am trying to figure out if I do have a firewall running.

Ok
Starting in the Devices view are the Orange ball (you) and the phone
paired ?
If you are then right click and do a Service Discovery.
If you complete the above then it should be ok from there.

Hey thanks for your help still having trouble though..

Ok So i switch bluetooth on on my phone and start up bluesoleil.

The device is paired as a little picture of a phone appears on the
screen and if you right click on it you have the option of "unpairing"
the device.

I do a service discovery and the following services light up
- dial up networking
- file transfer service
- object push service

>From what I understand I am suppose to right click on the file transfer

service and select "Connect" Is that right? Do I have do anything with
my phone at this point? I just get a connection failed when I try this.

Under device properties is my computer suppose to be set up under
desktop or server or doesn't it make a differance?

thanks in advance!

Once you have the services lit.
Right click on the device, select Connection - and then from the sub
menu chose your poison.
What can go wrong ?
The firewall can delay connection between devices, but it should not
hold things up unless you are allowing access to DUN or to the LAN/WAN
Serial Ports can get screwed because of contention, well that's what
it looks like to me.

Hi

Once you have completed the Service Discovery and the appropriate
icons have lit up then you can right click on the device you want to
communicate with and select the Communicate option. From the sub-menu
there will be an option for FTP.
If you select this sub-menu option and subject to the paired device's
approval you will then see an explorer type window of its filestore.

You can then drag and drop files to and from this window.

Hope it works for you
