Auto detect BT?

vocabulary as I'm new at BT.
Is there a way that the BT headset can be auto connected when the phone
is turned on -- or at least search in an attempt to connect? As it is,
each time the phone is turned on, need to go through several steps to
connect. Have set the device as authorized, but that didn't do the trick.
If there is not an auto method, perhaps there is a macro that could be
installed?
