windcomm software half 'packed up' since SP2

Posted: 09-29-2004, 01:52 AM
Hi,

I've replaced the microsoft bluetooth with my original drivers and most
features work ok. However, audio gateway just says something along the lines
of 'failed to make connection'. I can send/recive files OK and use a PAN but
the audio side just won't work.

I've tried the bluesoiel (spelling) software and it works grea, but
obviously since it's not licenced for my dongle I'm limited to 5mb transfer.

Why didn't the SP2 drivers just damn well support audio gateway eh?

Any suggestions short of reinstalling XP?

Ta

Uninstall SP2, stop using OE and IE and get a decent firewall, then
your PC will be a lot safer than with SP2.

Need SP2 on for development purposes.

Don't have any firewall as there's really no need.

Don't see what IE has to do with anything

From what I have seen you can have Widcomm BT working or SP2, not
both.

I just hope your PC isn't on the net.

My suggestion was based on the fact that SP2 goes a small way to
fixing the glaring problems with IE, OE and what MS have the cheek to
call a firewall. If you don't run SP2 (or even if you do) you are
better off without using any of those elements.

Oh my PC's on the net alright, but I really doubt any herbert's gonna manage
to compromise it

What I'm REALLY intested in is why all the windcomm BT services work minues
the audio ones.

Have you reinstalled your Widcomm drivers? I did an SP2 uninstall a
couple of weeks ago and reinstalled the drivers and all was back
working fine.

Yep - cleaned everything total off (down to the INF files and started
again).

It still can't manage audio connections wherer the bluesoiel software's
fine.
