Plantronics M2500 + Sony Ericsson T610 === How?

Posted: 09-25-2004, 02:51 AM

hi Clive,

I just got my M2500 today and am still trying to figure out how to make it
go. I was able to get through the pairing process. I can activate the
headset on the phone. But after a short period of time, it is de-activated.

As you say, the manual is skimpy at best.

Looking at the Plantronics web site, I'm not certain that the T610 is
compatible. The compatability guide only lists the M3500 and M3000 as
"Compatible Headsets" however the questions and answers section says

The M2500 is a Bluetooth compliant device, and will support Bluetooth
devices with the headset or hands-free profile.

If anyone is able to establish and keep a connection between the M2500 and
the T610 I would really like to hear about it.

Same thing happens when I go to use a Jabra 250 with my Motorola V710. It
works for a while, but after a period of time that could be from several
minutes to several hours, the Jabra no longer seems to be recognized. I have
to turn the Jabra off and back on again to get it working again.

The two Motorola bluetooth headsets seem to work fine for hours and hours..

Even though you have paired the headset/phone, I found that when I switch
the M2500 on it isn't automatically detected by my phone(s) - even though
they are set to 'auto' detect.

I need to do the the following;

Quickly press the button on the boom mic for the Bluetooth connection to be
established (as if your receiving a call. I then get the BT icon on my
phone(s)

Strange, but it's the same on my T610 AND V600. Manual is terrible, as
you've found.

Sorry I misread your post. Sometimes my conection between my phone and
headset is lost - maybe a plain and simple signal loss. But I have to press
the boom switch briefly to re-connect (as in my previous post).

I pleased with the M2500 - liek the fit, battery and sound quality, but
would love to know what all the low/high beeps mean.

I'm pretty convinced they have something to do with signal strengh
(network) - when I'm in a city, the low/high beep combinations seem to
happen more frequently (probably due to more transmitters?) - just my
theory.

If you have 'service alerts' turned on, the beeps may signify changing
digital/analog changes, or changes in service (towers).

Generally, you'll get a short rising (in frequency) series of tones when the
headset becomes active, and a falling series of tones when it goes back to
standby.
