Bluetooth applications development

We have a wired product, RS232.

We would like to incorporate wireless technology into
the next version.

Does anyone know of a development kit to get this working
as quick as possible ??

I know that a "stack" is required in our product , but
where can we buy one, or what is required to build one from scratch.

Are there any open source versions around ??

Thanks for any feedback.

I was searching for the same thing and was asking here in this newsgroup.
I'm intresting in a serial to BlueTooth adapter that I can plug into a
system with a serial port so I can acess this system through my bluetooth in
my laptop.

This is the links that I got:
http://www.blu2i.com/index.asp
http://www.connectblue.se/
http://www.initium.co.kr/english/promi-sd01.html

I'm not very good in the technical details in those units and having a hard
time selecting the right unit for me....

Widcomm (www.widcomm.com) is the leading vendor of BT communication
stacks (at least in the PC area). They also sell development kits.

Mezoe (www.mezoe.com) sell a BT communication stack for embedded devices
and PC dongles. I think they focus on CSR devices. An evaluation version
can be downloaded for free.

FreeBT (www.freebt.net) is a full open-source BT communication stack for
Windows. However, they're still in alpha phase.

BlueZ (www.bluez.org) is the open source BT stack for Linux. It is in
an advanced stage and covers many BT profiles.

Hoping this helps,

Michael

I made good experiences with modules from the German company Stollmann
(www.stollmann.de). They have a wide range of bluetooth products for
integration into existing designs with minimal effort.
Their OEM bluetooth to serial adapters are very small, low power and can
be used either in transparent mode or can be individually controlled by
your application software via AT commands.
