bluetooth software

I bought a bluetooth USB dongle for my PC and laptop to sync w/ my T610.
The software that came with the dongle is really sucks. The problem with it
is the software always fail to give out the wrong identity of the device to
where it plugs into. For example, I named my laptop's bluetooth ID as
'mylaptop' in the software when using the dongle w/ the laptop. But when I
plug the dongle into my Desktop that configure with a different ID
'myDesktop', my T610 still find the device as 'mylaptop'. Not that it was
cached or anything b/c given with this error, I am still able to sync up
with the desktop information. Another thing is when it syncs up, it kinda
screwed up my phonebook entries in my phone too. It doesn't know how to
handles the same entries, which result in multiple entries of the same
person in my phone.

So i'm wondering if there are any blueth software out there that I can use
to sync with Outlook to work w/ my bluetooth dongle. Bluetooth devices
should be able to work with any software, right?

You can be more specific. What software is being used for sync? Is this the
Bluetooth PIM Sync, or a third party? What BT brand?

I think this behaivor is common to alot of BT devices. It would appear to me
that the device identity is tied to the hardware address of the BT dongle
from the perspective of the T610. So even though the dongle moves from one
computer to another the phone only sees the same hardware address and
assumes that the identity is the same. In order to rectify this you need to
delete the pairing between the T610 and the computer before you try and sync
with the new computer.

You got it Tony. This subject was just recently discussed. And you have
quite eloquently "Said It Again"
