BT Headset for PC Speech

Posted: 02-14-2004, 08:28 AM
I've just got a new Sony-Ericsson HBH-65 and have connected it to my PC. I
want to be able to use it for speech recognition with Dragon
NaturallySpeaking (I currently use a USB headset with good success). The
sound quality from the HBH-65 seems quite poor. Even if I just use sound
recorder on Windows, what plays back is pretty ly. The speech
recognition really doesn't work at all with this headset.

Any ideas whether this is this just a faulty unit? Is anyone using a BT
headset with NaturallySpeaking? Any recommendations?

TIA!

Regards,

William

I got a HBH-15 looks like a Kilngon battle Crusser with the wings
chopped off but it works fine. Also use it on voice chat with Paltalk
and others no probs

Not much help to your problem but it lets you know that some do work
OK

As far as I recall, voice quality with the V1.1 spec is only meant to
be as good as that found on PSTN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSTN)
which probably won't provide the resolution you require for the voice
recongition....not a fault of bluetooth as it was designed to provide
'adequate' not 'pure' voice.

hope this helps
