TCP/IP Network not loading

Posted: 01-12-2004, 01:54 PM
Have a computer which links to a wireless hub via a wireless PCI card
installed in it. Runs on Windows XP professional

Installed a Belkin USB Dongle and when the computer has rebooted and I
log into my user part the TCP/IP network isn't loaded and I have no
internet connection.

Used same software to install the equipment on my laptop (XP Home) no
problems.

I have tried removing the Wi-Fi PCI card and starting the computer
without it, and then install the Bluetooth software but the result is
the same.

Anyone any ideas of things I can try to overcome this - cheers

Hi,
I had a similar problem. Main PC with Intel Anypoint wireless
connection connected to a laptop wirelessly. Installed Belkin USB BT adaptor
and now no network connection between the two computers for the same reason
as you have there. Not had time to set up the network from scratch again,
but will try that soon and see what happens. Guessing that there must be
some sort of 'conflict' between wifi and BT?

Did you ever manage to solve the problem and I would be interested to know
if anyone else has experienced this and if so, how they sorted it out.

Thanks

M

I was guessing at the same too, but see below.

I made the mistake of phone Belkin technical support and following to
the letter their instructions for solving the problem. This resulted in
the computer going into a blue screen of death mode in an endless loop.
Had to go buy a new hard drive, needed a bigger one anyway, and
reinstall Windows XP from scratch. Didn't want to risk it on the old
drive as I had data I needed to recover.

Anyway installed Windows, install the D-Link drivers for the Wi-Fi card.
Set it all up so it was running. Installed the Belkin Bluetooth, which
installed ok no problems and is working. So now I am completely at a
loss to know what is was.

Sadly, even when I tried walking through all of Belkin's help, it still wouldn't run. Bluetooth + my computer = no
Internet
