when will someone build *this* adapter?

I've searched and searched and looked and looked, but I just can't find what
I'm looking for - I'm pooped!

I'm looking for a bluetooth adapter that you can plug a regular headset to
turn it into a bluetooth headset. Basically, it's the *opposite* of today's
bluetooth headsets. Right now you can get bluetooth headsets to let you
talk to a bluetooth phone, and you can get bluetooth headsets with bluetooth
adapters that plug *into* a non-bluetooth phone to make it a bluetooth
phone. But I want to plug a non-bluetooth headset into an adapter that will
then allow me to connect to a bluetooth enabled phone.

The reason: I ride motorbikes. I have a communicator on the helmet that
lets me talk to my passenger or to my buddy on another bike via radio. It
also has a jack for plugging a regular 2.5mm cable into a cell phone so you
can talk on the cell phone without problem (let's not get into *that*
discussion here, that's for another forum).

The problem is that it's a pain in the ass to have to plug the cable between
the communicator and the cell phone. If I had a bluetooth adapter that you
can plug a headset into to, then I just just attach the device to the
communicator with a stubby 2.5mm cable, and from there go bluetooth to my
cell phone which is still in my pocket.

Anyone seen anything like this, or know who to bribe to get someone to build
it?

regards,

Paul

Nokia has done that. The new HS3-W is the newer version. I don't know if
you can use any "Standard-Plug" headset with it.

But they had a predecessor, which has such a plug. I remember that
nobody wanted to buy it.

Considering the price structure the Bluetooth unit is 90 % and the
"Headset" is 10 % of the value of the combination.

Look at HBH-20, on eBay.
Failed product and price reflects it, but I think it's just what you want.
