J2ME and Bluetooth

Posted: 11-13-2003, 09:51 PM
Hi!

I'm working on a student project concerning J2ME and Bluetooth on mobile
phones.
Development on the general J2ME bit is going fine, but we can't seem to find
a suitable Bluetooth API for J2ME.

Been looking for a JSR82 implementation for some while now but with little
results.

We really need some way to test bluetooth communication. For example between
a simple J2ME application on a mobile phone (or emulator) and a PC.

Does anyone here have any experience on using Bluetooth communication with
J2ME,
any recommended tools, development kits (software as well as usable hardware
for testing)?

Greetings.

WTF? What's this got to do with the original question? A link to a
bluetooth/802.11 gateway?

Not spam by any chance, eh? The bluetooth/802.11 gateway isn't the answer to
every question you know.

& worth holding off until they go 802.11g anyway. Who the hell wants
802.11b?

No, it's not spam. If you read the entire original post, you will find
the following question at the end.

"any recommended tools, development kits (software as well as usable
hardware
for testing)?"

The Possio PX30 has the J2ME JSR-82 Java Bluetooth API, which makes it a
usable hardware for tresting your Java Bluetooth apps.
