Good luck. > thanks for taking the time to reply, but i am still confused. I have looked to find out which port is the client one and which is the BT one but not sure where to look. Also, if I bypass the Belking bluetooth hub, how am I to get the synch working. I admit to being a bit of a newb to bluetooth and synching. Thanks again, Stu

I presumed having looked on Belkin's www yesterday & not finding any reference to a USB BT hub, that you had a USB BT dongle plugged into a Belkin hub or just meant Belkin BT dongle. My comments also presume that the BT stack is by Widcomm - the most common one which just gets branded for the make of BT adaptor. If this is the case, In My Bluetooth Places, navigate to Bluetooth in the toolbar & select Advanced Configuration. Under the Client Applications tab, a com port number should be listed for the BT serial port eg Com3. In Control Panel, there should be Phone Monitor Options which is the Sony Ericsson comms shell used by XTNDC & all SE s/w which won't work without it. There should be a tab called COM Ports where you enable the port seen earlier. I have that com port reserved & all others disabled on my system - you may not need to go that far. IIRC & this may depend on the version of SE's Phone Monitor you're using, the next attempt to sync Outlook or open Image Editor (with T610 selected) will initiate the software to search for & prompt for a name for the phone &/or name for the SIM card. My version of the s/w precedes the T610 but has a Communications Troubleshooter buried in the Start menu if the phone still isn't recognised. The default connection is Cable, keep it selected (ignore the Bluetooth button!), next choose the applicable options then click through the rest. This should force the s/w to search. Opening the phone's serial port 1st in My BT Places sometimes helps get the phone recognised. The reason for selecting the Cable option is because the s/w is using virtual serial ports which get installed with the BT s/w. Note that this method uses 2 com ports, one for the BT stack eg, COM4 (which is listed under the Local Services tab in Advanced Configuration) & the other, the SE s/w itself. If your s/w is different, you may need to adapt some of the steps. Just remember it can be got to work & your BT stack already seems to be. It's just a chore getting the SE s/w to play ball with the BT stack. I've had to unpair/re-pair my phone before now to get all this working. HTH!
