Problems with ACER BT-Dongle
Posted: 08-25-2003, 05:42 PM
I bought the ACER BT-dongle (20m, Class 2) to synchronize my
SonyEricsson T68i with my Outlook (Office 2000 Professional) running
on my YAKUMO Laptop under Windows XP Home.
I installed the Widcomm-Software-Suite (v1.3.2.7) that came with the
dongle and installed the dongle itself.
Everything workes properly so far. I have a BT-icon in the systray and
on my desktop now (named "Bluetooth-Umgebung" as it is the german
version, the international name of it shall be "My bluetooth
places"...). I paired my T68i and my Laptop/BT-dongle and they see
each other.
Now the problems start: when I click either on the systray-icon or the
desktop-icon mentioned above nothing happens. Only the systray-icon
gives me options after a right-click on it, e.g. to setup
configuration and so on...
In this menu I also have the option for a fast connection (named
"schneller Verbindungsaufbau") where I can select a service and the
device to interact with by this service. Here I can select my T68i
under the service "PIM-Synchronization" and the sync starts. But it
lasts lots of mintes to even start and then, after about 15 minutes
and 60%, it stops with an error message "Fehlerhafte Synchronisation.
Ungültige OBEX-Antwort auf eine Anforderung." which in english means
as much as "Synchronization failed. Wrong OBEX-answer on inquiry."
What did I do wrong? Where is the problem? I'm new to BT, I know a bit
about the technical idea of it and how it's realized, I also know a
bit about the different BT-profiles, but I have no idea, where my
problem could be...
I un-installed and re-installed the Software twice, but nothing
changed.
Thanks in advance for your help!
