Nokia 3650 Bluetooth issues

My phone does connect to my computer with a D-Link DBT-120 USB dongle, and a
dell desktop. But it's not a smooth process.
What I have to do to connect is to go to the "my blutooth places" and click
on the serial port connection. At this point, I get a message on my phone
saying "accept connection?" and hit yes; I also get a message on my computer
which says - inaccurately - that it using the COM0 port; then a second
message saying that the connection did not go through. At this point,
however, the phone actually _is_ connected to the computer and I can
transfer files and stuff.
I, too, had a frustrating discussion with Nokia, and told them that they
shouldn't pass the buck like that. I do think that there is a problem with
D-Link, but I also think that if Nokia only works with _certain_ BT products
or protocols, then that should be clear from the start.

The behavior is strange as you described, but actaully the BT connects to
the phone (outgoing), the phone wakes up and disconnects quickly (hence the
error message) and connect back (incoming).

It seems like Nokia implemented a very rudimentary BT COM server on the
phone, only to wake up perhaps or with limited functionality.

I have it working with TDK, Bluetake and Belkin.

Do you know why windows keeps telling me that it is connecting through the
port COM0, right before "losing" the connection? (It should be port COM5,
not 0, and I'm not even sure that there is a port 0).
I tried to download your guide earlier today, but couldn't get through to
the webpage. Basically, my BT connection is working, but I'm not convinced
that it's going to keep working.

Nope... Don't why the com0 stuff, but if it's working, don't worry.

When you tried Geekzone yesterday, did you get a "Maintenance" page? I spent
15 minutes doing a full database backup and a structure maintenance (field
changes)... During this time the site was offline.

no, I didn't get a maintenance page, it was said that it was loading & never
did.
got on it today, though.
