Default PIN on 1.3.2.7 / T68i

Posted: 07-10-2003, 11:19 PM
Hi,

I've been trying to track down the menu from where I can change the PIN for
new connections to my Bluetooth devices...

I'm running an MSI-6769 with (adjusted) TDK/Anycom Bluetooth Software
1.3.2.7. ISTR it asks you for a PIN when you first run the install wizard,
but trying it out, it seems to be set to 0000. I can't find the setting to
change it anywhere!

The same applies to the T68i - is it permamently set to '0000'? And for
other devices? Seems there's a lot of devices out there ripe for the picking
(free DUN, contact list download, etc!)

You don't change it so much as you select a code when prompted and you give
the proper response on the device you're talking to.

<Blinding flash of realisation>

So the standard calls for the same PIN to be entered on each device...
and not necessarily any preset PIN...

Although some devices do allow a PIN to be preconfigured, so that they
can auto-authenticate if the pairing device supplies the same digits?
