Microsoft have finally released the expected update to the Windows Mobile OS for portable devices. The new 6.1 version doesn't bring any ground-breaking changes but still it has got better.

Google has come up with a search application, which adds itself to the home screen of your phone, so that you can search the web fast.
Google’s search application is available for Nokia N-series and E-series devices, Blackberry and Windows Mobile phones. Go to mobile.google.com from your phone’s browser to get the search application. |

Based on last year's Motorola ROKR Z6 model, the Motorola Z6w adds WiFi support and a docking cradle.
It is basically just an upgrade to original Motorola ROKR Z6.

The New Samsung P960 is a quad-band GSM /EDGE phone with HSDPA support. It has a 2.6" TFT QVGA display and a 3 megapixel camera. 
The most notable feature of Samsung P960 cell phone is its DVB-H support. It has a TV-like pictogram on one of the shortcut keys next to the D-pad.
It also has the audio and video player with multiple file format support. It also has inbuilt FM Radio with RDS.

Sony Ericsson's W980 is a new Walkman phone with audio enhancing technology, intuitive music control, and 8 GB of storage. 
It is a power-packed flip cell phone sporting 8GB of internal storage. It has an exciting large external display, and something the company calls "Walkman on Top." The technology (if you can really call it that) replicates the music player interface in its entirety on the external display, allowing full player control without opening the phone.
It also includes a FM transmitter and PlayNow support. Its expected to be available by thirs quarter in 2008

Sony Ericsson is launching touch screen phones new Sony Ericsson G700 and G900, which are supposed to be great personal organizers. 
The Sony Ericsson G700 is the size of a regular phone and has a standard keyboard, but it also features a touch screen for jotting down notes on the screen with a stylus or staying organized using its other capabilities.
The Sony Ericsson G900 has features similar to the G700, but it also sports a 5-megapixel camera with Touch Auto Focus technology, touch photo album and editor, and built-in Wi-Fi.

Nokia has unveiled the new Nokia N96 handset at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The device is expected to be available by the third quarter of 2008with an estimated sales price of around 550 euros. 
It sports a five-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optical lenses, flash and video light and allows DVD-like quality video capture at 30 frames per second.
The device supports common video formats including MPEG-4, Windows Media Video and Flash Video.

Nokia has made great launches & multimedia announcements at Mobile World Congress this year, apart from that Nokia has launched the eco-friendly, lower-end handset Nokia 3110. 
The phone is made of environmentally friendly materials, the casing outside mobile is not oil based like mobile phones normally are, but is made from a renewable bioplastic instead.
Nokia has made Nokia 3110 charger ‘green’ too, it only uses 10% of the energy compared to a conventional average charger.
